Palazzo Bruschi Falgari – Works by Roberto Sebastian Matta

Palazzo Bruschi Falgari, an 19th-century stately home designed by Virginio Vespignani, houses the ‘Vincenzo Cardarelli’ Municipal Library on the main floor and a permanent exhibition of contemporary art on the second floor.

Highlights include two large polychrome ceramic panels by the Chilean artist Roberto Sebastian Matta. The two works, created in the mid-1990s, are part of a cycle dedicated to the great civilisations of the past, from pre-Columbian to Mediterranean and, therefore, Etruscan, civilisations, whose Tarquinia paintings have so inspired the artist’s work.
