“Live the Middle Ages and its pottery“: this is the theme of the experience proposed by Daniela Lai. Preceded by an introduction on clay working and decoration techniques, the workshop includes the decoration of an artefact, a tile or a saucer, using techniques and colours from the 13th century.
Alternatively, one can experiment with the Zaffera technique, a precious blue relief decoration dating back to the 15th century. The design is chosen, which is then transferred onto the already fired artefact by dusting. This is followed by outlining with a brush and colour sampling. The kiln completes the magic. After three days, the piece can be collected from the workshop or sent to the visitor’s home.
The craftswoman is always ready to tell the visitor about the stages of the production process of the artefacts and to show, in particular, the Zaffera decoration.
